About the Author

Robert P. Farrell is a writer who served for 22 years as an officer in the U.S. Army, including service as a United Nations peacekeeper. His military career included extensive work in influence and information operations, experiences that continue to shape his interest in leadership, power, persuasion, and what binds societies together—particularly in periods of increasing division and tribalism.

He is currently at work on Around the Fire, a novel set in the aftermath of the collapse of modern society that follows a small group of survivors as they navigate divergent versions of community in southwestern Ohio. His fiction explores how people rebuild social structures and find meaning after familiar institutions disappear.

Robert earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from Miami University and a master’s degree in information operations from the Naval Postgraduate School. Rather than continue in defense-industry work after retiring from the Army, he returned to Miami University to study creative writing. Robert lives in the Dayton, Ohio, area with his wife and two daughters.
